Welcome to the Parley Policy Initiative
The Parley Policy Initiative is a project focused on elevating knowledge about negotiation, diplomacy, and peacemaking. It offers a forum for practitioners, scholars, and policy thinkers to explore ideas that foster dialogue over conflict and engagement over confrontation.
Focus Areas
Negotiation is hard. It is even harder when organizations are involved, and even more complex when those organizations are governments. The Parley Policy Initiative focuses on the knowledge and insight necessary to master the practice of negotiation, because better negotiators conclude better deals.
Crisis Management
Once crisis strikes is not the time to start learning about how to manage it. PPI seeks to provide scholars and practitioners insight into the critical function of crisis management.
Peacemaking
The Parley Policy Initiative is biased towards peace--not peace by appeasement or surrender, but peace by negotiation and conciliation. PPI focuses on lessons in establishing a lasting and meaningful peace between parties to conflict.
Postwar Policy
How does one ensure that hostilities, once ceased, do not break out again? The Parley Policy Initiative examines the lessons and policies for moving parties to conflict beyond war.
